미국 국립과학재단(National Science Foundation; NSF)에서는 인문학 일부, 사회과학, 자연과학, 공학 분야 세부 전공별로 매년 대학원 진학생 900여 명을 선발해서 Graduate Fellowship을 수여하고 있습니다.

-_-;지난 번에 하버드에서 세미나 온 교수님이 우리 클래스에 외국서 온 사람이 얼마나 되냐고 손들어 보라고 하더군요... 저흰 40% 정도 됩니다. 차이나에서 온 사람 손들어 보라고도 하더군요... 하바드 자기 주변엔 외국에서온 박사과정 학생이 없답니다. 대부분 정부나 국내 다른 장학금을 받고 오기 때문에 외국 학생을 뽑을 이유가 없다고 하더군요... 그나마 자국에서 full support를 받는 경우가 가끔 있다고 하더군요...

곤줄이팟....전공이 뭐신지는 모르겠는데, MIT 일부 전공은 중국, 대만, 인도 삼국이 모두 채운 적도 많습니다. 미국에서 똑똑한 애들은 의대나 법대를 가지 대학원 안 갑니다.
